Weekend Happenings

The Eagle-Eyed Scouts amongst you
may have noticed a new listing
on the side bar
under Pieces of Me
which lists where my art works can be found
in the real world

This isa lovely gallery in my town of
called
located in the Denmark Visitors Centre
and they are now stocking me.

I popped in on my way home on Friday
to take a picture of the display
Impressive!!!!

And this a not very good photo
of my output at home on the weekend.
Sticking with just thread, white wax,
lamp black oil stick and handmade indigo oil paint
it is amazing what you can do
though perhaps the fact that
I am working over old work
is a helpful underbase.
And now I am back in town
for another week of
preparing workshop samples.

Birds and fishing moon

This is George

Cedric our Drake

Sugar

Sophia, Blonde, Big Roy, McChicken

Another Blonde, Hedley

Harriet, Mother

Isabella

A question was asked about the identity of the duck in the last post
so here I have pictures of everyone
who currently lives at our place
George we raised from a duckling
she is now71/2 years old
and our smartest duck.
The rest of the ducks we have had for about 5 years
and they were farmed out while we were away
the chickens are new since we arrived home
Mother is so called because when she came to us
She had a single tiny chick with her
That chick has now grown up
and is McChicken so named because
she is enormous
with the longest legs
So there may have been some loose talk
about GM
hence the name.

And this the moon I was lucky enough to see last night
down at the beach

Floating majestically
among the clouds.

Rain!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking east towards the morning sun

Boy o boy have we had some rain
It didn't seem to bad yesterday in Albany
and we set off home about 1.30pm

Chook yard

We stopped in Denmark
Did our weekend shopping and visit to the library
and Post Office
The first sign of trouble
a big sign just west of town
indicating care should be taken
because of
Flood Damage!!!
What the?
Well several of the gravel roads had been washed down
onto the highway making for a tricky drive home

Looking North

And when we got home
Half of our gravel road had washed onto our
driveway
making for a boggy silty mess

Duck Pond

And the 4000 Litre tank that Dan emptied into the big tank last weekend
Full
Off a 40sqm roof space!!!!!
Now that is a lot of rain
Thank goodness he cleaned the gutters as well
And it continued to rain all night
with thunder and lightening

The Vegie Garden
Thank goodness for raised beds

So these pics are what it looks like this morning
Now that the sun is shining and the skies are blue
Just like nothing happened.
Now to get the washing on the line
